Mr. Klaus Lindermann has sent me a letter and book as STUTTGART report card and has asked me for my view of their previous four contests. Surely among hundred great and small contests which are these days all around the world some of them get success and are great and separate from others. This is because of contest’s responsible art view that they don’t look cartoons as goods, if we look cartoon as goods, so quantity overcomes quality. Memorial photos are showing more important than winner’s works and cartoonists are going to get rare in that contest and ordinary (not famous) people get rewarded.
We consider STUTTGART behavior by two views:
First: In four terms of this contest, works which won were not better than those could win. This means that I didn’t accept contest judgment. There are better works in
STUTTGART than those which won , because of being new and creative they could be win , but those works won which most of them had similarity and this shows this contest’s juries are newspapers known cartoonists who they are friendly between themselves but there are some distances between them and exhibition cartoon’s space . Using writing in bubble or describing cartoon either in winner works or book in spite of all international contests is reason for my words.
Second: publishing book full of works which take parts in contests , sending it on time , holding exhibition shows that this contest does its commitment between contests , so more cartoonists will take part in it in the future or Tehran binary will be one of the most considerable contests between them .
STUTTGART contest have found its big place between contests so I congratulate Klaus and his friends.
